Everyman is a beast without love

Not many fairy tales are written for Men. Drama doesn’t move men. Fictions don’t inspire men. Romance doesn’t excite men. They are truer today as they were in the olden days (Gays & feminists are excluded). Apart from the drilling of our Indian moral stories and epics I never had the advantage of reading fairy tales from the West. The fact is that I am not fond of FAIRY TALES too. My belief is Fantasies and Fictions are for women. Recently I was watching a movie ‘The beauty and the Beast’ with my niece, you don’t have much choice when you are with kids. This movie, I have to admit I was moved. A tale for men, finally. Our hero is not a prince charming, not a prince enticing, not a prince glamorous, not a prince handsome, but a BEAST. Certainly not the kind even a plain girl in this world will fantasize. Story is simple; A Beast turns into a handsome prince when he realizes REAL LOVE, when he realizes he can’t force love, when he realizes love is not owning but giving. BOOM! He is transfigured.
Being a little artist, a little writer, and from an advertising background, we look at things beyond the surface. This is how I interpreted the tale. The BEAST, to me is a common man with the male ego, pride, power and supremacy over opposite gender.
A MAN is a BEAST, as long as he thinks only about himself, strives only for himself, dreams only for himself, and loves only himself.
A MAN is BEAST, as long as he believes possessions bring happiness and power brings glory.
A MAN is BEAST, as long as he takes everything and gives nothing.
A Man remains a Beast till he earns love.
Everyman is a Beast without love.
